I have two dachshunds less than 3 years old and was looking for something that would occupy their chewing needs that they could not destroy. Currently they are awesome and "eating" flexibones in an hour or two. So I thought this toy would help with chewing and problem solving but boy was I wrong. Apparently no one made sure the toy is dachshund proof. The took the plug out of the top in 15 minutes and chewed off part of an edge in an hour or less. Don't waste your time or your money on this item.

My dog is not a chewer. He's a little dog. The first fire plug I got was destroyed before he got out even one of the end-piece treats that came with it. I got another fire plug and didn't put the ends in. Instead, I filled it with kibble. My dog simply squeezes the fire plug gently to pop his kibble out. Even with such minor use, the fire plug starts showing tears within a week and after a few months has so many tears that it won't hold kibble. It's the perfect size for my dog's food (he won't eat out of a bowl), but I wish Everlasting would find a truly durable material. As it is, it's somewhat false advertising.

I have a 5 month old pit bull mix and he has destroyed about 8 different toys in the last 2 weeks. This Everlasting Fireplug has thus far stood the test of time and is the first (and thus far only) toy that has been tough enough to withstand my puppies strong, sharp teeth. I am AMAZED! No tears, scratches, rips, dents...nothing! And the best part is it keeps my pup entertained for hours at a time!

After reading the summary and reviews I thought this toy might last, but it did not. After 45 min. my shep/lab mix had one side torn off. I had to take it away so she would not keep going. Needless to say she was not happy about losing her new toy.

I was excited to find a product that makes claims of tear resistance and the ability to hold up to power chewers. Unfortunately, this product doesn't hold up to it's claims. My Shiba Inu mix had it in pieces within 30 minutes. If you really do have a power chewer- beware.

I wish this site had more everlast toys. I have ordered all of them. My english bulldogs normally destroy the toughest toys in minutes, or have no interest in them at all. They love all of the everlast toys, and play with them until they are lost. I am reordering more today just to restock.

I am a HUGE fan of Everlasting toys (see my other reviews),as are my dogs, however, this one was very disappointing. The dogs were crazy for the Plug, but had a large piece of the lip chewed off in a matter of hours and it had to be remove it from them. We are very pleased with the other 3 Everlasting products, but the Fire Plug will NOT be one I recommend to anyone with heavy or destructive chewers.

My shepherd/shar pei mix tears into everything. This was the first toy that has lasted more than a few hours. She keeps popping out the treat, but i put them in the middle and it drives her crazy. Love, Love, Love this toy.

I have agressive chewers, and this toy is wonderful. My only problem is that they take them outside and lose them. These have lasted longer than any toy in our house.

I ordered one along with 3 packs of the treats that go in it, I was thinking when I got it that she would love it because I got her one of the treats before with out the holder and she loved it, But so far she has not touched it, Maybe because she has so much more to play with right now, I hope she will like it later on.

I have a 18 month old Airedale Terrier who is an extremely aggressive chewer. He has been known to destroy black kongs. We got this toy more than a week ago, and he loves it and has been able to do absolutely no damage to it. He will spend hours trying to get the treats out. He also has the Triple Crown Hide a Treat Toy, which is one of his favorites, and which also is undamaged after 6 months, which led me to buy this new toy, and I have not been disappointed. Make sure to buy the right size. Im guessing that people who have had problems with this toy got the wrong size.

My aggressive chewer, a 13 pound terrier mix, was able to tear a large chunk off the smallest size of the everlasting fire plug within 15 min. of giving it to him. I would NOT recommend this product.

The first thing I have found that my Miniature Schnauzer hasnt been able to chew up in 10 min. In fact its still going strong after 1 week....even though hes a mini, hes a major chewer.
