The Space® All-Weather Hooded Blanket provides full wrap-around protection for the entire body as well as total head coverage via the contoured hood. It’s fitted with inside hand pockets to easily hold it closed even while wearing gloves. The tough and durable waterproof reflective material can be used as a sleeping bag, blanket, rain poncho or even as an emergency signal.
This blanket is a by-product of the super-insulating materials originally developed by MPI for NASA. It is made from Astrolar®, a four-ply laminate of clear polyethylene film, a precise vacuum deposition of pure aluminum, a special reinforcing fabric and a layer of colored polyethylene film. It is windproof, waterproof, and lightweight, and will reflect and help retain over 80% of radiated body heat, providing warmth and protection, even in sub-zero temperatures. It even stays flexible to -20° F. Reinforcement grommet holes on all corners go a long way in durability, making this survival must-have easy to reuse in any situation.
